Ogden, Write Your City Council Members!

Thank them for committing to HB 411 (Community Renewable Energy Program)

Ogden, did you know your community signed up to participate in the Community Renewable Energy Program?

This is the roadmap to 100% renewable energy, but we need your help!

What is HB 411 (Community Renewable Energy Program)?

The program states Rocky Mountain Power will supply 100% renewable energy by 2030 to residents and businesses in participating communities.

Back in 2019 the bill was enacted and 18 communities (including Ogden!) opted in to participate in this innovative partnership with our state’s largest, investor-owned, utility supplier, Rocky Mountain Power.

What happens next?

Although the bill was passed and communities chose to participate, there are still some hurdles.

Ogden now must sign the program agreement in March to continue with the Community Renewable Energy Program

Cost, you ask? The program is projected to be $2-7 more per month. Not bad a price for sustainability. Staying in the program will help provide more information to you and your community.

How can you help?

Reach out to your city council members and let them know you want Ogden to have access to 100% renewable energy and HB 411 is the best roadmap to sustainability.

Here are Ogden's representatives you should reach out to:

When crafting your email, don’t forget:

  • Subject line: Thank you for staying committed to HB 411

  • Address each member by the correct title

    • Example: “Dear Mayor _____” or “Dear Councilmember _____"

  • Sign with your name and zip code

  • The more personal you can make your note, the better! Let them know how committing to renewable energy can impact your life for the better.

Talking points for your email:

  • Our community previously committed to HB 411 to get on track for 100% renewables and we want to stay committed.

  • Please sign the program agreement so we have the chance to understand how renewable energy can be implemented in our community.

  • Rocky Mountain Power has admitted their fleet is out of date.

  • This is the only available option for 100% renewable energy in our community, and we want the option to make the switch.

Thank you in advance for taking action to help your community!
